Introductions and Ice Breaker - Randy Stoecker, COMM-ORG
2:00 - 3:30 Panel Discussion of the outcomes, opportunities and challenges, and issues raised in collaborative work between community organizing groups and academics. Each panelist will speak from their particular perspective. Panelists include:
* Rob Kleidman, Associate Professor of Sociology, Cleveland State University
* Lisa Donner, Campaign Director, ACORN; and
* Rachel Parker Gwin, Virginia Tech
Question and answer period
3:30 - 3:45 p.m. Break
3:45 - 5:15 p.m. Small Group discussions (academics in group 1, organizers and leaders in group 2, and funders in group 3) to discuss what they have to offer in a collaborative relationship and what they want from the other partners.
5:30 - 6:00 p.m. Report back from small groups and identify emerging themes
6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Dinner
7:30 - 8:30 p.m. Panel Discussion on resources for Collaborative Work. Panelists include:
