Last week, I told you about PICO's big goal to mark the one-year
anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (today!) with a renewed
commitment to make reform real for our communities - through PICO's
Bring Health Reform Home campaign.

A year ago, when the Affordable Care Act was being signed, I couldn't
have imagined the assault detractors would launch on health reform.
Before the ink was even dry, politicians were picking away at the
hard-won measures that will mean so much to low-income families and
communities .

Today, PICO federations around the country are leading public actions to
call for renewed support for health reform. In New Orleans, US Surgeon
General Dr. Regina Benjamin will join PICO federation MICAH New Orleans
for a press event. In Camden, NJ, US Senator Robert Menendez will speak
for Camden Churches United for People on how ACA is serving local
communities. And in Brooklyn, Caya Lewis, Chief of Staff for the Center
for Medicare and Medicaid , will join PICO federation Brooklyn
Congregations United for a press event highlighting how the new law
helps seniors, children and the very ill.

Also today, we're launching a series of four new radio ads that will run
in Denver, New Orleans, Kansas City and Orlando that feature PICO
community leaders who are already benefitting from the law. The ads
reiterate the support of the faith community for implementing
health-care reform.

Today's events and the new radio ads are part of PICO's push to Bring
Health Reform Home . But we need your help: One of the very real hurdles
we face is re-energizing public support for the new law. That's where
