Dear friends,

The sociology journal, City & Community, has just published an article
from my research on the Citizens Organising Foundation in Britain, a
sister network to the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF). The British
network launched the UK's first living wage campaign and won economic
guarantees from the Olympics Committee for funds to improve the lives of
East Londoners in the areas around the 2012 Olympics, among other
campaigns. If you are interested in learning about the foundation's
efforts to apply the IAF's organizing principles in a very different
social, religious and political context, you may find the article
interesting. You can access it via electronic subscriptions from
libraries, and the reference is:

Mark R. Warren. “Community Organizing in Britain: The Political
Engagement of Faith-based Social Capital,” City & Community 8 (2) (June,
2009): 99-127.

Alternatively, my staff assistant, Melita Garrett, will be happy to send
you a pdf of the article if it is for your own personal use. You can
email her at: melita.garrett at gmail.com

Best,

Mark R. Warren
