National Field Organizer

The National Field Organizer is based in Jubilee USA’s Washington, DC 
office and leads the Network’s national grassroots organizing and 
outreach efforts. The National Field Organizer works closely with the 
Deputy Director and the Outreach and Congregations Fellow to support the 
Jubilee Congregations program, local Jubilee chapters, and priority 
national advocacy campaigns. Jubilee USA Network is an alliance of 75 
faith communities, development agencies, and human rights groups working 
for the eradication of global poverty through advocacy for definitive 
debt cancellation and more responsible lending policies.

Responsibilities
 Lead grassroots campaign planning– including development of goals, 
timelines, communications, educational materials and advocacy activities.
 Travel to present workshops or meet with supporters and partners about 
organizing Jubilee activities in their region.
 Coordinate the Jubilee Congregations program by:
o Providing regular communications with Jubilee Congregation contacts;
o Recruiting new Jubilee Congregations and mobilizing existing Jubilee 
Congregations to participate in campaigns and programs; and
o Preparing education, advocacy, and worship resources for Jubilee 
Congregations.
 Organize Jubilee’s annual grassroots training conference
 Coordinate speaking tours, including recruitment of speakers, 
promotion, press outreach, development of a local planning team, and 
hiring of a local tour organizer
 Educate and mobilize Jubilee supporters, member organizations, and 
constituents by:
o Developing content for regular e-mail alerts;
o Organizing and making phone calls to members to support advocacy 
campaigns;
o Notifying members about new information on key issues or legislation; and
o Recruiting Network Council members to participate in campaigns.
 Ensure that database of constituent contacts is maintained and updated.
• In collaboration with other staff, develop and update education and 
action materials for Jubilee members and supporters as needed.
• Work with Fellow and supervise interns

Qualifications
• Successful experience in organizing, outreach, or advocacy at a 
faith-based institution, progressive nonprofit organization, or 
community non-profit organization.
• A minimum of 3 years full-time experience in one or more areas above 
desirable.
• Demonstrated experience with organizing local educational events, 
maintaining relationships with local contacts and organizers, and 
convening and facilitating meetings;
• Demonstrated knowledge of or experience in working on issues of 
international debt and development, global justice, and/or international 
economic policy.
• Demonstrated experience in working with faith communities helpful.
• Demonstrated experience with organizing speaking tours preferable.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
• Strong commitment to economic and social justice.
• Understanding of and commitment to the principles, concerns, and 
considerations of the Jubilee Network with regard to issues of race, 
class, nationality, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, and 
disabilities.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, French, or another language commonly 
used in the Global South helpful.

Compensation
Salary $34-38,000, depending on experience. Comprehensive medical and 
hospitalization plan; term life, plus fringe benefits; participation in 
unemployment and worker's compensation and social security.
