USAction Education Fund
Paid 20 Week Organizing Fellowships

Make your voice heard, become active in the progressive movement! In
this 20 week project, fellows will work with USAction state affiliates
to conduct extensive community outreach and education to help frame the
public debate about our national budget and economic security. Fellows
are being hired to work in historically under-represented communities in
Rhode Island (Providence); New York (Syracuse); Maine (Portland); North
Dakota (Bismarck); Missouri (Kansas City/Independence); Oregon
(Medford); Wisconsin (Milwaukee); and Washington (Seattle).

USAction is a national leader in increasing civic and voter
participation (www.usaction.org). Extensive training will be provided
by the Midwest Academy, a national training institute for progressive
organizing. Some fellowships may lead to staff positions; job search
assistance will be provided at the end of the fellowship for others.

We are looking for people with prior experience, either paid or
volunteer, in progressive social change work. These positions will have
substantial responsibilities and require people who are committed to
social justice, ready for a challenge, and are hard-workers,
self-starters, and a team-players. A car will be required for all
positions. Priority will be given to applicants from the area to be
served, or who have familiarity with the area.

More information and the application instructions may be found at
www.midwestacademy.com. Interviews will begin as applications are
received, so please apply ASAP. We anticipate that hiring will be
completed by July 6, and the position will begin July 20.
