POSITION: Program Associate

ACCOUNTABILITY:
Accountable to Community Wide Dialogue Program Director

PROGRAM SUMMARY:
Community Wide Dialogue to End Racism, Improve Race Relations, and
Promote Racial Healing (CWD) helps the Central New York community
build the trust and respect necessary to find common ground, develop
relationships across racial divides, and work together toward action
to end racism. The program provides a safe and effective process for
participants to talk and work on issues of racism and race relations
with people from different racial, ethnic, religious, socioeconomic
and ideological backgrounds.

BROAD FUNCTION:
This is a 40 hour/week position that provides assistance to the
Program Director.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Managing the CWD office
-Organizing Meetings and Dialogue Circles including outreach to
recruit participants
-Data Entry/Data Management
-Document Production and Packaging
-Mailings
-Answering phones, responding to requests
-Working with Board, volunteers, and donors
-Special Events coordination

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
-Commitment to the dialogue process to address racism and race relations
-Advanced word processing and data base management (Microsoft Office,
Desktop Publishing, ACCESS, EXCELL, and OUTLOOK)
-Excellent organizational/office skills
-Ability to work with people from diverse socioeconomic and cultural 
backgrounds
-Excellent telephone and public communication skills
-Experienced at community organizing
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desirable
