On the air and on the ground for AFFORDABLE health coverage
Yesterday, PICO partnered with Faith in Public Life, Sojourners and
Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good to launch an Independence Day
health care reform push that includes radio ads in Louisiana, Colorado,
Nebraska, North Carolina and Arkansas, a national clergy letter to
Congressional leaders, town hall meetings, and a new health care reform
guide for pastors and communities of faith.
The campaign launch received widespread nationwide media coverage in
more than 150 news outlets. You can listen to the ads here.
PICO also released a national letter from 625 clergy from 41 states and
39 religious denominations urging Congressional leaders from both
parties to pass legislation this year that makes health care affordable
to all families.
As part of PICO's Independence Day recess campaign, we'll be live
webcasting a Health Care event on Affordability with Colorado Senator
Michael Bennet organized by PICO affiliate Metro Organizations for
People. Watch the event here live at 6:15pm MT on Thursday, July 2.
And mark your calendar! July 7 is a national call-in day on Health Care
Affordability using PICO's toll free hotline, (866) 279-5474.
