Hello,

We are starting up a nonprofit and need a good donor software program.
We've been in conversation with eTapestry. Everything I've found is all
good on this company, and they allow the integration of website,
registration, enewsletters, donor tracking, etc. plus it is web-based
and offer lots of good training. They even offer a guarantee of raising
the costs of the program in the first year.

However, they cost about $5 to 8k the first year, and another $1.5k
after that. They integrate lots of good stuff, but they may be the
Cadillac and right now I need a Toyota Fit version. I'd be interested
in knowing what other small nonprofits are using, with their strengths
and limitations.

I'm also shopping for a decent copier. Is it better to buy one
outright, or buy into a service contract? We do a lot of education and
presentations need a good workhorse.

Thanks for any help,

Bonnie

[ed: my favorite source of software for community groups, as well as
tech advice generally, is www.techsoup.org. A search there using "donor
software" turns up some interesting stuff, such as
http://www.techsoup.org/learningcenter/databases/archives/page10169.cfm.]
