Deputy Director of Finance

For the last 30 years, Corporate Accountability International has 
successfully challenged corporations like GE, Nestlé, and Philip Morris 
to halt abusive practices that threaten public health, the environment 
and our democracy. Think Outside the Bottle, our leading campaign, is 
currently exposing the truth behind bottled water marketing and 
defending the basic human right to water in the face of increasing 
corporate control of the resource. Our ongoing and emerging campaigns 
also challenge the abuses of major tobacco, food and oil transnationals.

The Deputy Director of Finance ensures the development and 
implementation of the organization's financial plans and accounting 
system across the various units of the organization, while supervising 
finance-related staff and projects.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure the development and implementation of financial plans as a 
member of the Finance and Administrative Unit, including:
o Overall functioning of the financial systems (accounts receivable, 
accounts payable, payroll, audit, account reconciliations)
o Annual budget preparation
o Monthly financial reporting
o Grant budgets and financial reports
• Work with senior leadership, communications, development, and 
organizing units on various projects.
• Participate in organization-wide planning, fundraising and campaign 
activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice and progressive social change.
• At least three years experience directing or managing the financial 
systems of a progressive non-profit organization.
• Effective staff management skills and style.
• Highly motivated, with great attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and style.
• Talented with databases, Excel, and numbers.
• Good organization and enjoy juggling several tasks while setting and 
meeting deadlines.
• Strong systems analysis, conceptualization and implementation skills.

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Deputy Director of Finance reports to the Director 
of Finance and Administration.
SALARY RANGE: $38,700 – 45,200, depending on experience, plus an 
excellent benefits package.
