[ed: here are more responses. Also, it is important for me to note that
Wisconsin State law expressly forbids me from using any state property
or time to engage in partisan influence over an election. So please
remember that this list is open to *all* discussion regarding the
conflict between community organizers and the GOP and that my job is to
facilitate that discussion for broad educational goals.]

As many of you probably know, Deepak Bhargava is the executive director
at the Center for Community Change. Yesterday in the New York Times,
Deepak writes about what a day in the life of an organizer is – and he
wrote about Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement (CCI) and Hugh Espey.
Iowa CCI is part of the National Training and Information Center (NTIC)
Network – a network of 26 community-based organizations that work with
communities to build grassroots power in the service of a more just and
equitable society. NTIC and our other 25 affiliate organizations – want
to share and recognize with pride the work of Hugh and Iowa CCI…and all
organizers across the country.
Community organizing improves our democracy and helps to foster
leadership in the community.
