Center for Whole Communities-Deputy Director
From: "David Chavis" <dchavis at capablecommunity.com>

Center for Whole Communities
Deputy Director

Position opens November 25, 2008

How is it that those who care about people, and those who care about the
land have often ended up divided from one another? Imagine what we could
achieve if movements for the environment and human rights worked
together? Imagine what you could achieve if you were part of a thriving
organization that is leading a new movement for change - building
healthy, whole communities by reweaving the relationships among people,
land and community.

Center for Whole Communities (Whole Communities) is a vibrant and
rapidly growing organization transcending the environmental and social
change arenas. Our alumni are from 44 states and more than 400
different communities and organizations. We support and encourage these
leaders in their efforts to innovate and build deep collaborations
across the divides of politics, specialization, race, class and privilege.

Whole Communities has gained renown as a safe harbor where different
leaders can vision together, find shared values, and move forward in
unconventional collaborations. Based on a working organic farm in the
Mad River Valley of Vermont, Whole Communities is a national leader in
advancing a new practice of community restoration. We purposefully take
on many of the issues that have created divides: the necessity to think
and act beyond narrow definitions of success, the lack of a shared story
