Dear Friends,
WOW -- look what's happening in Virginia! Each year more people join the
Virginia Organizing Project, and each year more people become active,
more people vote, more people attend leadership trainings, more people
call or write their elected officials, and more people are in
constituent meetings with legislators. It's all adding up!
In 2009 we are hiring two more organizers -- both women of color -- to
expand our organizing in more communities across Virginia.
By now, you should have received our annual Fall Fundraising appeal.
Many thanks if you have donated to VOP this year. If you haven't yet,
you can make a donation online at
http://www.virginia-organizing.org/donation.php
If you'd rather pop a check in the mail, you'll find an envelope in the
letter you recently received from one of our 50 VOP interns, Gabby
Brown, sharing her story with VOP board member Del McWhorter.
If everybody gives what they can, we'll make our fundraising goal for
this year. You can help us do it!
We could also really use two operational cars in good working condition
so our two new organizers can meet with more people and increase the
push to make Virginia, and our country, a fairer place for everyone. If
you have a car to donate, please let us know at 434-984-4655 ext. 229.
Thanks again for all your support. It's fun to feel the ground shifting
in Virginia -- exciting days ahead!
