query: short term volunteer opportunities in New Orleans

Hi!

 

On a personal note, my 17 year old son wants to volunteer in New Orleans 
for a week or two this summer helping  somehow with the recovery. If 
possible, he wants to organize a few friends to do it with him. Any 
ideas? This was his idea to use some of his gift money and summer 
earnings for travel to do this.  I am proud and would like to see if 
there is anything feasible. He a great savvy kid, but 17 from the 
Washington, DC suburbs. Thanks!
