Join the new Grassroots Organizing AERA SIG

Dear Colleagues,



This March we launched a new Special Interest Group on grassroots 
community and youth organizing at AERA. The new SIG was a milestone 
event for community organizing, and for those of us who do research in 
this area.



Now we need YOU to join the SIG!!!! The number of sessions the SIG gets 
at AERA annual meetings depends in part on the size of our membership, 
as of June 30. Please become a member if you haven’t already, and please 
circulate this email message to others who you think would be interested 
in joining.



To become a member of the SIG, you can sign up on-line. Visit the AERA 
website at http://www.aera.net/, click on the member login and enter 
your member ID and password. Click on SIG memberships and select 
"Grassroots Community and Youth Organizing" #172. (Annual membership 
dues are $15; and $5 for graduate students.)



Again, please register today to help the SIG secure sessions in San 
Diego. Because SIG memberships can take time to process, please email 
Kavitha_mediratta at brown.edu to let us know that you’ve joined.
