Neighborhood Organizer wanted to work with existing neighborhood groups
and to help begin new ones. Organizer will assist neighborhood residents
in solving neighborhood problems that they identify, such as
neighborhood condition, crime problems, affordable housing, zoning
issues, need for better paying jobs, etc.
The Neighborhoods Resource Center (NRC) is a non-profit agency that was
created by neighborhood leaders to assist neighborhood organizations in
forming and in accomplishing their goals. NRC helps neighborhood groups
to shape the future of their neighborhoods through our three program
areas: Neighborhood Organizing Assistance, Leadership Training, and
Information Services.
Qualifications:
College preferred
Computer literacy required
Self-starter; able to achieve goals with little supervision
Creativity, problem-solving skills, strategic thinking necessary
Able to work as a team with others
Committed to helping residents improve their neighborhoods
Committed to developing others as leaders
Able to relate to inner-city neighborhoods as well as congregations,
agencies, businesses, etc.
Experience in neighborhood groups or volunteer organizations preferred
Some night and weekend work required
Salary and Benefits:
Full-time position
Salary range is low to mid $30’s. Full benefits included.
