justice to work to make affordable housing a reality for everyone in
Washington? Ready to take leadership to help grow the movement and build
a strong and powerful base of housing advocates?
The Washington Low Income Housing Alliance is seeking a full-time
Mobilization Coordinator.
This position will start by working to "voterize" Alliance membership
and make sure that low-income housing residents, homeless people,
manufactured home park residents and others are registered and have the
information and support they need to vote this fall.
After the election, this position will lead the Alliance's effort to
identify, train and mobilize advocates across Washington in support of
our state and federal legislative priorities. This includes:
*coordinating our highly successful and 500 advocate-strong Housing and
Homelessness Advocacy Day in Olympia;
*using cutting edge technology tools to manage our successful online
advocacy, build networks of housing advocates, and expand our base;
*training advocates around the state in the use of effective using
effective messaging and advocacy techniques to build support for
low-income housing.
We're looking for someone with plenty of energy and passion, and a
demonstrated commitment to ensuring that every family and individual in
Washington has an affordable home. The ideal candidate should be
exceptionally well organized, have excellent verbal communication skills
and be able to work with people from all income and class
backgrounds-from board members, to housing agency staff, to low-income
tenants and people experiencing homelessness. In addition, we're seeking
someone with program development experience and community organizing,
voter participation, or campaign experience.
$42,000 - $50,000 annually plus excellent benefits, a collaborative work
environment, and generous time off.
