President

Woodstock Institute

The Chicago-based Woodstock Institute, founded in 1973, promotes access to
economic and financial resources for lower-income and minority people and
communities. Its tools are applied research, policy development, education
and technical assistance, and coalition building. During its over 30 year
history, Woodstock Institute has developed an exceptional national
reputation for its creative and successful efforts to support community
reinvestment and economic development in disadvantaged communities.

Among its most important defining characteristics is the Institute's
demonstrated ability to combine high-quality research and policy analysis
with effective, targeted advocacy in ways that both inform critical debate
on key policy issues affecting disadvantaged people and effect concrete
social and policy change on their behalf. The Institute works locally,
nationally, and in several foreign countries. The Institute maintains a

other organizations in coalitions and for individual projects. Specifically

. Develop and maintain strong relations with funders

. Analyze and research national and local policies and practices
affecting community economic development, community reinvestment, and
financial asset building for low-income and minority households and
communities and develop organizational positions on these issues

. Speak, write and otherwise disseminate, together with program staff,
Woodstock Institute's positions on these issues to help inform various
audiences and to shape national and local policies, practices and
implementation
