Dear Friends of Youth,

As the legacy organization Mrs. Rosa Parks established in 1987, the Rosa
and Raymond Parks Institute has been involved in countless
partnerships in carrying on the work of Rosa Parks with youth ages
11-17. While planning to be on the program for the 45th anniversary of
the March on Washington, this past Thursday we became the lead
organization and therefore shifted the focus to attract youth. Because
of the short turnaround time we are taking the "dare to inspire"
attitude of Lance Armstrong and going forward with this opportunity.

Most important on the 28th we cannot let the steps of the Lincoln
Memorial be without a commemoration of this occasion. There are so many
youth who do not know the stories of the struggle nor have made
connections with each other regarding their mutual interest in making a
difference, especially in the areas of race relations, education and
environment. This will be a day of public education, lifting youth
voices, and mobilizing youth to be active leaders of change.

We request your assistance in getting the attached information out to
America's youth through groups, schools, organizations, the faith based
community, individuals, friends, family and colleagues in your network.
Please make a special effort to contact those in the DC area or within
driving distance. Ask everyone to spread the word including making
media contacts. If you know of volunteers who can assist on that day
please let us know.

If we can inspire a 1,000 young people and follow it up with a You Tube
video it will help in keeping the dream alive. Mrs. Parks really
believed that young people are our future. Cultivating a "next
generation" of Rosa Parks' is our passion!

Please copy us on your email blast so we can gauge the need for
resources to support our presence (i.e. porta-johns) on the mall and to
include your name in the acknowledgements. Please let us know if you
wish to disseminate educational information on the content areas outlined.

Thank you so much for what you do for youth.
