A suggestion for this and similar queries: it is very helpful to other
folks if you start out saying what you are doing or what your background
is. Especially if your query is very general, which this one is, folks
can help you better (and are more likely to take the time to do so) if
they know what you know and are connected to, and thus what you don't
know and aren't connected to.
For example, for this one I want to send you to your local Center for
Independent Living (even though you are asking for internet resources)
but for all I know you might work for a CIL.

Two groups i've had some contact with over the years (worked with one
and worked for the second) include:
Advocating Change Together <http://www.selfadvocacy.com/index.htm> -
I've met Rick Cardenas, one of the co-directors, several times and have
always been impressed and wishing i had greater opportunity to work with
(and learn from) him.
Canadian Association for Community Living <http://www.cacl.ca/> - I have
co-taught with Michael Bach (the E.D.) and find him to be a very strong
intellectual regarding disability issues, including advocacy.
good luck

Many states have advocacy organizations called "people first" -- a good
site to look at is http://www.peoplefirstofnh.org/ -- or google your
own state name + "people first".
Each state has a Developmental Disabilities Council. Those web sites are
rich sources of information. Ohio's web site is:
http://ddc.ohio.gov/
One of the leading national advocacy organization's is TASH -- their web
site is tash.org.
Each of these sites is linked to lots of others.
