/For over 30 years, the National Training and Information Center (NTIC)
has led the way on housing and banking issues such as community
reinvestment, affordable housing, foreclosure prevention and curbing
predatory lending practices. NTIC is a national resource center and
network for community organizing groups across the country. Through
training, consulting, research, and national campaigns, NTIC works to
build a more just society by developing powerful organizations to fight
for racial and economic justice. /

Save the American Dream Campaign is an aggressive foreclosure prevention
initiative aimed at stopping the widespread affects of foreclosures on
families, communities and the U.S. and global economies. The primary
responsibility of the Field Organizer is to spur organizing around
unfair lending practices, foreclosures and other injustices related to
housing and banking issues.
*_Job Responsibilities_*

* Develop and implement a plan to engage local organizations in
organizing efforts around foreclosure prevention, abandoned
properties, predatory lending, and community reinvestment;
* In concert with the Campaign Director, develop an expanded
national leadership team that will be at the center of campaign
decisions and strategy;
* Develop and market new models for local organizing on issues of
foreclosures, abandoned buildings, predatory lending, and
community reinvestment;
* Conduct on-site training and over the phone consultation;
* Bring new organizing groups into the NTIC Network through affiliation;
* Work in concert with the Campaign Director and Communications
Director to develop a media and communications strategy as well as
build the new media infrastructure that supports the campaign that
drives the campaign;
* Work with the Save the American Dream staff, leaders and partners
to strengthen the campaign and actualize campaign goals;
* Organize workshops, meetings, and actions related to the Save the
American Dream Campaign at NTIC’s national events;
* Research and translate relevant housing and banking policies that
will assist affiliate organizations with their local work as well
as move the campaign;
* Contribute regularly to the organization’s websites and bi-monthly
to major publications including, NTIC Reports and Disclosure;
* In concert with the Campaign Director and Development Director,
conduct grant writing and fundraising.

· Community organizing experienced is preferred
· Commitment to social justice
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends.
· Willingness to travel
· Have a healthy attitude and be a team player
· Comfortable in diverse situations
· Self-starter and motivated
· Must be a good listener
· Open to feedback and critique of work
· Strong writing and verbal communication skills
· Computer proficiency
