[ed: thanks to James and Soniar for replying to Rob's query. James also
asks for others to talk about how they use relational meetings.]

In response to Rob’s question...
Our small activist education collective facilitate workshops to
introduce community organisers in Australia and our region to relational
meetings (or one on ones), Our thinking about relational meetings and
their importance in the craft of community organising is strongly
influenced by the Industrial Areas Foundation, and Edward Chambers’
‘Roots for Radicals: Organising for power, action and justice’.
Northeast Action and the Fair Immigration Reform Movement both have
excellent resources on their websites.
This year, our ‘mobilising for change’ workshops have introduced
relational meetings by sharing and discussing resources, reflecting on
experiences of meetings that embody some elements of the approaches
described, simulations and role-plays, then considering how to utilise
relational meetings in participants’ campaigns.
I’d love to hear how other people are weaving relational meetings into
their work.
James
