OUTREACH MANAGER
AMERICANS FOR QUALITY HEALTH CARE PROJECT
An Outreach Manager for consumer recruitment and support is needed for a
high-impact, nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy group dedicated to
promoting fairness in the workplace, access to quality health care and
policies that help women and men balance their work and family
responsibilities.
The Manager will recruit consumer advocates to engage in quality health
care project activities; will provide consumer advocates with extensive
technical assistance at the state and national level; will track health
care quality legislation, regulations, and other related activities at
the state and national level; will assist in planning regional and state
meetings and conferences for consumer advocates; will develop training
modules and informational materials for consumer advocates; will assist
in maintaining an interactive web communications system and advocacy
database; will interact and forge relationships with health care quality
stakeholders at the state and national level; and will research and
write various documents on Project's key issues.
Funded by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Americans for Quality
Health Care Project is comprised of consumer organizations and advocates
working to increase advocacy and mobilization around the issues of
patient safety, quality of care, and greater accountability on the part
of physicians, hospitals, and other providers.
Qualifications
Applicants will have a college degree, graduate degree preferred, and a
minimum of five-years grassroots organizing or related experience.
Excellent organizational, research, writing, and interpersonal skills a
must. Position requires superior presentation skills, personal
initiative and high energy. Knowledge of health care issues preferred,
as well as some experience dealing with health care issues at the
national level. Travel required.
