Job Announcement - Executive Director

Garden State Alliance for a New Economy



Garden State Alliance for a New Economy (GANE) is a new, not for profit 
organization organizing for a participatory economy in Northern New 
Jersey. GANE works with labor unions and community groups to marshal the 
power and expertise necessary to hold governments and corporations 
accountable for the creation of quality family supporting jobs, secure 
health care, affordable housing and a safe, clean and healthy environment.



GANE is searching for an Executive Director. The ideal candidate will 
have strong strategic organizing and communications skills. The 
Executive Director must possess a broad knowledge of public policy, with 
knowledge of Community Benefit Agreements a plus. The candidate must 
also have knowledge of fund raising, grant writing and a commitment to 
social and economic justice. The Director must be able to work 
independently, and reports to the Board. The Director will hire and 
supervise a staff of organizers and researchers to carry out the 
organization’s work plan.



The work environment includes all of the excitement of social movement 
organizing and the peer-to-peer support of a strong group of Executive 
Directors from similar groups in other regions of the country.



Compensation is based on experience and includes a generous benefit and 
vacation package.
