Described by The New York Times as "one of New York City's most
respected charity groups," BRC, one of the City's largest and most
comprehensive social services agencies, is looking for a Director of
Research and Evaluation.

 

POSITION: Director of Research and Evaluation

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:      

Reporting to the BRC's Chief Program Officer, working closely with the
BRC's executive management team, and serving as a member of the senior
management team, this individual will:

 

o        design, implement and/or oversee research initiatives that
measure the success and impact of BRC programs and the individuals they
serve, and assist the effort to identify opportunities to fund that
research;

o        author articles and case studies for publication and/or
dissemination that document BRC's work, to contribute to the public
discourse and to help shape public policy;

o        remain current on relevant research in the field, and share
that knowledge with BRC staff;

o        oversee, coordinate and refine BRC's performance management
program, insuring the integrity, validity and accuracy of data collected
and reported by BRC programs, for both internal and external use;

o        facilitate the agency's quarterly performance meetings;

o        contribute to a culture that values evidence-based practices;

o        attend, and present work at, conferences;

o        assist in staff development projects that increase the depth
and breadth to which BRC staff work with, understand and value data; and

o        other relevant and appropriate duties as may be assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

o        Masters degree in public or business administration, or other
relevant field

o        Prior experience in research and program evaluation

o        Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

o        Ability to take initiative and act independently

o        Fluency in Excel, Powerpoint, SPSS, SASS, or equivalent

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS:  

Salary commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for a bonus based
on performance; a generous benefits package, including health and dental
insurance, 403(b) plan, 4+ weeks vacation.
