Vy Nguyen
The Northwest Federation of Community Organizations and its member
groups have done particularly good work monitoring various public
policies, including the administration of food stamp and Medicaid
programs. Lee Ann Hall is the Executive Director, and she can be
reached at nwfco at seanet.com

Jobs with Justice (JwJ) has set up "Workers' Rights Boards" in various
states, and this seems like it could be a great model for addressing
your organization's goals. This link gives more info, including success
stories, etc: http://www.jwj.org/WRBs/WRBs.htm. I've been marginally
involved with Workers' Rights Boards in Massachusetts and North
Carolina, and feel they are very promising.
Feel free to contact me to discuss, or to contact local JwJ
organizations, see http://www.jwj.org/LocalCoal/contact.htm
All my best,
Dani

Vy,
I know that Jobs with Justice has organized a number of Workers' Rights
Boards in different cities. Not exactly the same as what KIWA is
considering, but probably would use the same moral suasion techniques
that your contemplated board might use. Further information is on their
web site:
