Main Function: Overall responsibility for Agency operations.
Works with the Board of Directors to establish  goals, and
directions.  Provides for the planning, organizing, developing,
recommending, implementing, and updating of programs and
facilities. Ensures that standards of quality meet or exceed
those set by regulatory agencies and funding sources. Maintains
fiscal stability. Coordinates and maintains relationships with
professional organizations, regulatory agencies, funding sources,
community leaders and community members, especially those within
from the target group. Possess good leadership skills and
characteristics of a visionary, problem solver and decision
maker.



Essential Duties: Provides the Board of Directors with
information in an organized and professional fashion which is
required to evaluate operations and provide direction required by
the organizations Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws. Works
closely with the Board of Directors to ensure constant evaluation
of the agency's programs and direction so that maximum services
can be provided to the community served based upon current
funding levels and future expansions.



*	Serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Board and
attends regularly scheduled meetings. Interacts with the Board
President and members as required, to provide liaison between
daily operations and the Board's need to know information which
may require special Board approval or special sessions to fulfill
Agency's mission. Implements policy, practices and procedures.



*	Ensures the preparation of required materials to obtain
funding, operating certificates, liability insurances and
anything required for the efficient operation and financial
stability of programs.



*	Coordinates with the community, other human service agency's
and resources detailed agreements necessary to foster diverse
programming at CRUCIAL beyond the scope of its current funded
programs.



*	Coordinates educational opportunities for Board members 
having
to do with Board functions of  a not-for-profit organization to
include: Strategic Planning, Fiscal Responsibility, Fund raising
and total quality management. 



*	Recruits and selects program managers and front line staff in
accordance with job descriptions and board directives. Works with
staff to provide the support required for quality operations.
Acts as a mentor, provides leadership and direction for
individual staff development, competence and dedication to
programming. Ensures that quality staff is selected, evaluated
and promoted/terminated as needed.



*	Ensures that programming is delivered to the target group
effectively, efficiently, in accordance with budget allocations
and the contracts for funding. 



*	Provides  regular and on-going staff education programs
providing opportunities to improve skills and enhance operations.



*	Represents the agency in the community, with government
officials, at media events and public relations activities with
Board Chairman.



*	Researches and implements best practices, programs, policies
and procedures to ensure quality programming and consumer
satisfactions; provides guidance and direction to better service
the target population and their families.



*	Produces all reports to funding sources, board of directors and
the community; develops agency annual report, regular program
work plans and all outgoing written correspondences regarding
CRUCIAL.



*	Ensures fiscal integrity by monitoring operational procedures
closely to maintain provision of services consistent with
available resources. Seeks to maximize available resources
through funding diversity by researching grant opportunities from
foundations, government agencies, endowments, and private donors,
which might provide investment of funds for future years. 



*	Must possess the talent and vigilance to produce regular grant
proposals  for additional agency funding.



*	Supports and endorses the principles of Affirmative Action.



*	Provides for the avoidance of conflicts of interest between
individuals, groups, and agencies in the conducts of agency
business.





Other Duties: Must be prepared to speak to large and small groups
explaining the programs and on subjects that are relevant to
CRUCIAL services and community.



Has visibility within the community through volunteer work,
serving on boards of directors, advisory boards, and
participation with social/fraternal and faith groups



Provides direct  client services as needed during staffing
vacancies..



Performs all other duties assigned or required to maintain
CRUCIAL programs.



Education:



Associates Degree from an accredited program in Human Services 
Business, Administration, Public Administration or related field
and 10+ years of progressive Human Service
Administration/Leadership experience with proven record of
success in developing programs and staff. Must have superb
written and verbal skills demonstrated success in managing human
service programs.





Bachelors Degree from an accredited program in Human Services,
Business, Administration, Public Administration, Planning  or
related field and 5 years of progressive Human Service
Administration/Leadership with proven record of success in
developing programs, staff. and managing human service program.
Must have superb written and verbal skills and be well organized,
capable of managing multiply tasks, and possess superior
leadership qualities.



Contact: Position requires daily contact with individuals within
the organization, at other organizations, with community
residents and leaders . Must be able to interact well with many
individuals from diverse backgrounds.



Physical Demands: Position  requires long periods of sitting,
standing, and walking. Significant job related stress may be
associated with the role. Personal transportation vehicle is
required for meetings in the community and program requirements.
Evening and weekend work is required with some out of town travel
requirements.



Equipment: Must possess excellent telephone manner, use of office
equipment and excellent personal computer skills including
knowledge of Microsoft Programs.



Working Conditions: Community Center in Urban Underserved
Community. Must interact with individuals from low to modest
socio-economic backgrounds and limited literacy, and some with
complicated social stressors/conditions.



Position Status: Full-time Exempt  



Salary Range: $26,000 -$32,000
