Assistant/Associate Faculty Position

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking applicants for a full 
time position in the School of Community Economic Development 
(SCED). The expectations of this position include: graduate 
teaching; research; advisement; and college and community 
service.  The faculty in the School of Community Economic 
Development are expected to supervise student projects, and teach 
in areas related to community building, such as, business 
development, financing community economic development, 
housing development and nonprofit and cooperative management.   
The SCED is the premier masters and doctoral degree program for 
practitioners who are working  nationally and internationally in 
community economic development.   The students in the SCED are 
typically, mature, experienced and racially very diverse.  In view of 
our inclusive student population, and emphasis on the dignity and 
worth of all people, the SCED  embraces and values diversity 
through the encouragement of applications from candidates of 
African, Latino, Asian and Native American descent and women 
(including women of color)..  

Qualifications:  Ph.D. in a field relevant to Community Economic 
Development; with significant teaching experience utilizing 
participant centered methods; demonstrated interdisciplinary 
orientation and research experience relevant to the field.  Areas of 
expertise such as nonprofit capacity building, business 
development (including microenterprise development) or 
accounting/financial management are encouraged.  

Duties: Teach graduate courses in Community Economic 
Development, advise both masters and doctoral students;
