Senior Research Associate

The Association for the Study and Development of Community 
(ASDC) is looking for a full-time senior research associate to 
manage projects, provide technical assistance, implement research 
activities, and develop new projects. The successful candidate will 
begin as deputy project/evaluation director for two national projects 
involving large systems change related to the prevention of crime, 
violence, and substance abuse, and providing evaluation technical 
assistance to local evaluators. This position will also have the 
opportunity to develop own projects and to work on other ASDC 
efforts.  

Must have experience, knowledge of and a keen interest in 
community development, youth development, violence prevention 
& other social issues. Must possess strong communication skills 
(speaking and writing), strong project management skills, and the 
ability to work with diverse groups of people, communities, and 
cultures. The successful candidate will have a combination of 
quantitative and qualitative research and analysis skills. Computer 
application skills (e.g. MS Office ,SPSS, etc) are needed. We are 
interested in filling this position as soon as possible.  

Specific requirements that should be demonstrated and clearly 
identified in your application:  

* Prior professional experience in the implementation, technical 
support, or evaluation of community or systems changes 
projects.(Minimum three years)  

* Masters degree required, doctoral degree preferred, in related 
field or demonstrated equivalent knowledge of related research and 
research methods  

* Project or task management skills including supervision of staff, 
maintaining project timelines, and overseeing multiple tasks  

* Combination of qualitative and quantitative research skills 
(including computer based analysis tools)  

* Ability to write and produce reports and presentations
