Executive Director, South Carolina Fair Share, Columbia, South Carolina

South Carolina Fair Share, a statewide membership consumer advocacy
organization is seeking an Executive Director.  The Executive Director
is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing the day-to-day
operations of the organization.  Under the direction of the Board of
Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for developing and
implementing an effective program for a multiracial, multi-issue,
membership-based advocacy organization with training and technical
assistance capacities in order to forge and act on a progressive agenda
for South Carolina.  South Carolina Fair Share advocacy and organizing
is currently focused on the areas of health care, governmental services
like TANF and Food Stamps and financial services.

The Executive Director staffs an active and involved Board of
Directors.  The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring efficient
and effective management of organization resources, including budgeting,
financial reporting, fund raising and accountability for organizational
assets.  The Executive Director recruits, supervises and evaluates a
staff currently of two other professionals and volunteers, provides
professional development opportunities, and fosters appropriate working
conditions.  The Executive Director is responsible for development,
planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of organizational
programs and projects.  The Executive Director performs public relations
tasks including media contacts, community education and acting as a
liaison with members, coalitions and other organizations.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated successful experience
in: 1)  organizing or advocacy; 2) fundraising, grant writing and public
speaking; 3) working with groups which are diverse in race or ethnicity,
gender, age and sexual preference; and 4)  planning and supervision.
The successful candidate will have effective writing and speaking skills
and be computer literate.

Compensation: Salary will be in the range of $35,000 to $45,000 based on
experience and qualifications.  Excellent benefits.
