[ed: thanks to Laura for a nice list of references on partnership
governance for Laura's query.]
From: "Laura C. McKieran" <lmckieran at nyam.org>
As per Randy's "encouragement" :), here's a list of references on
partnership structure and governance.
Unfortunately I'm not able to take the time to annotate these right now,
but the long list of citations below covers several aspects of informal and
formal partnership structure and governance: legal status, relationship to
government, relationship to community (including business),
financing/source of funding, influence over resource allocation,
representation and decisionmaking processes, flexibility (e.g., to support
spin-offs), mechanisms for accountability, influencing environmental
factors, and a few outcomes. The list includes case studies, case
series/analyses, conceptual papers, and manuals/guides. What this list
DOESN'T include are pieces that talk about collaboration processes but not
structure.
If they aren't journal articles, chances are you can find these on the web
(we've had good luck just using altavista), often in printable html or pdf
format.
If anybody knows of something really good that isn't here, please let me know.
