Position Title: National Communications Director/Boycott Coordinator

Position:
Farm Labor Organizing Committee, AFL-CIO (FLOC) seeks full time,
committed, experienced person to assume duties of national
communications director and boycott coordinator.

Duties:

   * Maintain and develop all communications with local, state, and
     national press, including writing and distributing news releases,
     responding to requests for information, developing and placing
     stories.
   * Maintain and develop communications with union members and
     supporters, including writing and distributing newsletters and
     other material, maintaining databases for the above, maintaining
     FLOC web site.
   * Respond to requests for information from press, supporters and
     general public.
   * Manage a plan for increasing the scope and effectiveness of the
     national consumer boycott of Mt. Olive Co. products.
   * Organize and maintain effective support committees in targeted
     cities.
   * Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

   * Strong commitment to economic justice and farmworker rights
   * Minimum of two years organizing and/or communications experience
   * Must be self-directed, with the ability to work collaboratively and
     independently
   * Excellent oral and written communication skills preferably
     bilingual Spanish and English
   * Must work well under pressure
