Job Posting
Manager, Fundraising & Program Development
One-year contract position
STOP 103 is a neighbourhood centre that provides programs and advocacy
to address problems of food insecurity and poverty in West Toronto. STOP
is currently going through a period of transition and growth. We are
seeking a person who shares our commitment to a community development
approach to manage our fundraising and communication work and provide
leadership in the development and implementation of innovative food
access programs.
Responsibilities:
Fundraising/Communications
§ In consultation with Executive Director (ED) and Board of Directors
develop fundraising strategies and financial goals
§ In consultation with ED/program staff increase grants by researching
and preparing proposals to foundations, corporations, service clubs,
churches and government
§ Develop and maintain donor database
§ Develop and manage direct mail appeals and ensure prompt issuing of
tax receipts
§ Develop all public relations materials (brochures, newsletter)
§ Develop and execute a communication plan (media contacts, key
messages)
§ Assist in the planning, production and co-ordination of special events
Program Planning and Support
§ In collaboration with program staff ensure the development and
implementation of innovative and relevant program responses to community
need and interest
§ Provide staff support to committees of the Board of Directors
§ Provide support to ED in leadership and participatory supervision of
program staff
Qualifications
§ Demonstrated experience in a culturally and racially diverse social
service setting with a knowledge of and a commitment to community
development theory and practice
§ Demonstrated experience in fundraising and communications, preferably
with a non-profit organization
§ Excellent oral and written communication skills
§ Demonstrated knowledge of program design and evaluation
§ Strong organizational and administrative skills
§ Strong prospect, research and grant writing skills
§ Proficient in Microsoft Office including fundraising databases and
online research
§ Knowledge of and experience with food security/anti-poverty sector an
asset
§ Second language and knowledge of the Davenport West community are
assets
Salary range: $36,000-$39,000 plus benefits. Hours: 37.5 Starting Date:
As soon as possible.
