call for posters on teaching and social action

[ed:  here is another call for posters at the 2000 Midwest Sociological
Society meetings.  And by the way, a "poster" is just that--a sheet of
poster board that tells a story.]

"Teaching, pedagogy, and social action" is a poster session designed to
highlight class assignments or teaching strategies that involve "social
action projects."  Social action projects, broadly speaking, encourage
students to use their sociological knowledge to address social problems or
social issues in their communities.  Posters describing service learning
projects or projects involving volunteer activities connected to sociology
classes would fit well into this session, for example.
