Position:
Community Organizer with Congregations Organizing for Renewal (COR) of
Southern Alameda County, organizing in congregations, neighborhoods, and

schools in San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Hayward, Union City, and Fremont.

Primary Responsibilities:
Training congregation, public school parent, and neighborhood leaders to

effectively organize to create change in their neighborhoods, schools,
and
the larger community.

Skills Required:
* ability to work with a diverse set of religious congregations
* ability to work with diverse racial/ethnic communities
* Spanish/English bilingual preferred
* strong analytic skills
* ability to work as part of a strong team of organizers as well as
independently
* relational skills
* comfort with agitation

Hours:  Full time

Compensation:  $30,000 per year; negotiable, DOE.  Benefits include
medical
and dental, mileage, retirement plan, vacation.

Community Organizer, Lafayette/Houma/Thibodaux, LA

Position

Community Organizer for the Interfaith Sponsoring Committee of
Lafayette, Houma and Thibodaux (IFSC, Inc.), a congregation-based
community organization working in the neighborhoods and communities of
Lafayette, Iberia, St. Mary’s, Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes
(counties) of south central Louisiana.

Primary Responsibilities

Position for a community organizer to teach community organizing skills,

to move local organized groups through Actions.

Skills Required

Experience working with diverse ethnic communities
Commitment to social change
Strong inter-personal and analytical skills
Ability to develop meaningful personal relationships
Ability to challenge and be challenged

Hours

Full time with evening work.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary $25,000 (negotiable based on experience); benefits include health

plan, retirement, vacation and professional development.
