Greetings,

This is a date claimer.
The Environmental Advocacy workshop series will commence on 22-23 February
2003.
Some initial information about the series follows. To be kept up-to-date
in the future, please join our mailing list by emailing sam at S.LaRocca at mailbox.gu.edu.au otherwise this will be the only message we will send to you personally
without your request.

Workshop one, Taking heart in tough times: Sustainable activism (avoiding burnout) will be held at Griffith University's EcoCentre on 22-23 February. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare you for an effective and
energized year. The two-day workshop is inspired by a combination of
traditional Buddhist teachings and Joanna Macey's burnout prevention work.
Bobbi and Katrina will facilitate activities to encourage personal
reflection, meditation and goal setting for sustainable advocacy.

Details of the first workshop are available in PDF format.

Environmental Advocacy Workshop Series
Brisbane 2003

Environmental advocacy is challenging and complex. Advocates and activists
infrequently take time out to reflect on our experiences and achievements.
Yet our campaigns succeed through the development of a toolbox of skills
and strategies.

This workshop series has been developed for engaged and experienced
advocates to build our skills and create opportunities for networking and
mutual learning. These seven workshops will encourage advocates to
participate actively. The workshops will be presented by expert
environment movement trainers and facilitators.

If you think you could become more effective in your advocacy or have
insights to share with others, this series is for you.
