Haven't yet joined the American Sociological Association section on Labor
and Labor Movements? Now's the time to do so. It's only $5, but since we
are brand new you have to remember to add us to your ASA dues renewal.

If we get 300 members by December 31 we get to organize sessions at the
upcoming ASA meetings. At least as important, such a section would
generate discussion of labor issues and could become a way for
academics to engage with the labor movement.

The price is the same for students and faculty, but we have scholarships
available for student members. Not a member of the ASA yet? Now's a good
time to join. One way to do so is to go online at
http://www.asanet.org/forms/mem.html and sign up for the section there.
Alternatively, if you are already a member, you can send a $5 check (and a
note indicating that you want to join the Labor and Labor Movements
Section-in-Formation) to the ASA at 1307 New York Ave., NW, Suite 700,
Washington, DC 20005-4701, attention membership.

Time is of the essence; please don't delay!

Peter
