"From Community-Campus Partnerships to Capitol Hill: A Policy Agenda for Health in the 21st Century"
Next spring, more than 500 community and campus leaders will convene in the nation's capitol for four days of skill-building sessions, policy briefings and community site visits. Bring your voice from the grassroots level to federal, state and institutional policy makers. Help shape a policy agenda for health in the 21st century that values partnerships, citizen participation and educational institutions that are meaningfully engaged in their communities.
Among the key policy issues to be discussed and debated are: * Engaging communities as equal partners in health research * Closing the gap in minority health status and outcomes * Financing of community-based and interdisciplinary health professions education * Roles and rewards for faculty community involvement * Sustaining service-learning partnerships
A call for poster, workshop and story proposals will be out in September Conference registration materials will be out in January
