6.75% Rent Increase in this Economy?
Get Ready to Testify at the
Rent Guidelines Board
On May 1, the Bloomberg-appointed Rent Guidelines Board (RGB) set a
range of rent
increases for rent-stabilized apartments that unjustly rewards landlords
during
an economy when most tenants are continuing to struggle tremendously.
The board's
preliminary vote called for up to 4% increases for one-year lease
renewals, and
up to 6.75% for two-year renewals.

Make your voice heard by testifying in front of the Rent Guidelines
Board. You don't
need to be an expert on the economy - you're already an expert on your
own life!
In your own words, tell the Rent Guidelines Board why these increases
would be
a hardship for your household.
