Associate Dean for Research (Rank: Associate/Full Professor), School of
Architecture and Planning, University at Buffalo


Associate or Full Professor in Urban and Regional Planning
(specialization is open) that also serves as the Associate Dean for
Research and Scholarship in the School of Architecture and Planning.
This position is responsible for providing leadership to the faculty in
the implementation of the research mission of the School; directing the
Regional Institute; mentoring faculty in the development of their
scholarship, research and creative activities; providing counsel to the
Dean on all research and scholarship matters; representing the School on
university, community, and professional bodies; and collaborating with
the professions of Architecture and Planning, community agencies and
other university school and departments to create innovative
opportunities and partnerships for research and scholarship.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Doctorate in Planning or related field, be
eligible for tenure, and have demonstrated leadership, mentoring skills,
and ability to work well with faculty, students, staff, and community
partners; demonstrated success in external research funding; a record of
distinction in research, scholarship and teaching in urban and regional
planning or related field; and a sustained record of externally funded work.
