Executive Director

The Human Rights Initiative of North Texas, Inc. (HRI) is seeking an
experienced, strategic leader with process, organizational, and
collaboration skills to lead its management team and oversee the
operations. The mission for HRI is to promote international human rights
through legal and social services to North Texas refugees and immigrants
who have suffered human rights abuses. For ten years, HRI has
implemented the American justice system to restore dignity to otherwise
hopeless individuals who have been victims of violence in their country
of origin or in the U.S. HRI also provides a limited range of social
support services, including referrals to appropriate area service
providers, job search assistance, group activities, and individual guidance.

The Executive Director is responsible for:

· Leading and developing a team of 10 employees

· Administration and support for the Board of Directors

· All aspects of Fund Development to ensure adequate funds available to
meet mission

· All aspects of Financial Management including budget preparation and
the timely and accurate reporting of financial information

· All aspects of Human Resource Management including employee
recruitment and retention; updating personnel policy and procedures;
compliance with laws and regulations

· Public speaking to raise visibility of the organization

· Multicultural sensitivity and possessing a passion for human rights

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of leadership experience
with at least 3 of those years in a senior management role. The ideal
candidate will also have some familiarity with Immigration Law and Human
Rights. In addition, the candidate must have a comfort level with
computer operating systems and applications. A Bachelor’s Degree is
required; JD preferred.
