Job Announcement: Coordinator, PCRC Schools Program

The Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (PCRC) is a public benefit 
organization that provides a broad range of programs and services in San 
Mateo County. PCRC’s goal is to develop strong, engaged, non-violent 
communities by providing conflict resolution and community building 
services and training. The PCRC Schools Program “promotes student 
learning by building caring and collaborative school communities” and 
tailors PCRC services to meet the unique needs of San Mateo County 
schools in overcoming non-academic barriers to student success. PCRC is 
seeking an energetic and motivated individual to serve as Coordinator 
for this exciting program.

Brief description of position
The Coordinator reports to the Manager of the PCRC Schools Program and 
shares with the Manager responsibility for meeting the program’s goals 
and objectives as defined in PCRC’s Business Plan. The Coordinator is 
also responsible for receiving and responding to program- related 
inquiries and requests for services, providing on-site assistance as 
needed. Other duties include program support in the areas of evaluation, 
marketing, research, database maintenance, materials upkeep, and 
administrative responsibilities. This is a full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities
• Receive and respond to inquiries from schools for training and other 
• Conduct assessments, schedule trainings, send confirmation notices, 
and maintain database records.
• Provide on-site technical assistance to school sites.
• Develop a procedure for conducting follow-up contacts with clients.
• Review, revise, and implement program evaluation strategies.
• Write and distribute informational and marketing materials.
• Stay current on research linking positive school climate/social 
emotional learning and academic achievement.
• Maintain client email lists.
• Review and update training materials.

Secondary Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support to the Manager of the PCRC Schools 
Program. Duties include: providing data for program reports, planning 
and facilitating meetings, managing trainer contracts and data, 
budgeting and invoicing, and drafting correspondences.
• Work with Manager of Civic Engagement on parent involvement and 
school/family partnership program areas.
• Provide support for implementation of marketing plan.
• Maintain Schools Program web page content.
• Organize and plan annual student mediator event.
• Develop quarterly e-newsletter to send to schools.
• Attend relevant local events as program representative.
• Work as a strong collaborator with youth services partner organizations.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
• Strong program coordination skills
• Training in communication and/or conflict resolution skills
• Experience working with schools, including direct interaction with 
educators, students and parents
• Knowledge of positive school climate, social emotional learning, and 
youth development concepts and strategies
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with different 
sectors of the school community including parents, administrators, 
teachers, and students
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with 
PCRC team members
• Ability to respond to immediate client needs while managing day-to-day 
• Strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to providing high 
quality customer service
• Proficient with the following software and applications: MS word, 
Excel, FileMaker Pro, email, and Internet browsers.
• Valid California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Classroom teaching experience
• Knowledge of San Mateo County schools
• Bilingual/bicultural
• Background or experience in multicultural education, cultural 
diversity, anti-bias, awareness and/or violence prevention
• Experience with website development, graphic design, and/or curriculum 
• Willingness to explore and be open to innovative and nontraditional 
strategies for family engagement
• Experience with developing agendas and conducting effective trainings
• Experience planning large events


Compensation: Salary $34,000 - $36,000 DOE. Health & dental benefits
