This position reports to the Director of Policy and 
Communications.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to 
the following:

§	Design and implement community and leadership projects and 
activities
§	Research, document, and provide relevant project information 
to 
participating sites
§	Initiate and foster dialogue through project listservs
§	Assess and determine site needs, seek and recommend local 
and national 
resources
§	Gather, document, and disseminate model practices to the 
CTCNet membership
§	Schedule, organize and facilitate site meetings
§	Maintain regular communication with sites, consultants, and 
CTCNet staff 
through phone and email
§	Revise and maintain project web pages
§	Conduct regular CTC visits; travel to sites, as needed
§	Prepare monthly, interim, and final written reports
§	Represent organization at local and national conferences and 
meetings.

Experience & Qualifications:
§	Ability to work collaboratively in a grassroots organization
§	An understanding and commitment to the mission of community 
technology
§	Demonstrated experience with:
o	project management, and specifically in the planning and 
implementation 
of non-profit community-based programs;
o	forming relationships with non-profit organization leaders and 
program staff;
o	organizational and strategic planning;
o	advocacy and/or civic engagement;
o	providing professional development and facilitating groups.
§	strong familiarity and interest in policy and social applications 
of 
technology;
§	strong Internet and research skills;
§	working knowledge of basic office applications;
§	strong interpersonal skills and the ability to network throughout 
a 
diverse community;
§	strong organizational and written skills; and a bachelors degree 
in a 
related field.

A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.  The successful 
candidate will have at least three years experience in community 
development, media and/or technology and a commitment to the 
improvement of opportunities available in underserved communities.  

Salary Range:  40s.  CTCNet provides benefits including health,

Responsibilities:  CTCNet's Director of Programs will have a formative 
role in setting programmatic direction for CTCNet's special projects, 
piloting initiatives with CTCs and disseminating best practices in 
support of community technology nationwide.   

This person is responsible for the overall design, implementation, and 
evaluation of CTCNet's special projects and corresponding activities. 
This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with 
the Director of Partnerships and Development, and the Director of 
Policy and Communications on development, partnerships, policy, and 
organizational operations.   

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:  

· Provide leadership in the conceptualization and overall direction of 
CTCNet's programmatic vision in collaboration with the Board of 
Directors, the Member Services Committee, and staff;  

· Recommend and develop annual and long range program goals and 
objectives;  

· Manage the design, implementation, and continuing refinement of new 
and existing programs;  

· Identify and incorporate academic research into program design and 
goals and institute systematic methods of collecting and reporting on 
program outcomes.  

· Supervise the implementation of programs by professional program 
staff and consultants and empower staff in the execution of 
programmatic activities.  

· Foster and maintain relationships with programmatic partners, to 
develop and implement comprehensive policies and support 
mechanisms that promote and support community technology activities.  

· Work with management team to develop and revise annual program 
budgets and manage activities within those parameters;  

· Work with the Director of Partnerships and Development to identify 
funding opportunities for current and future programs.  

· Work with the Director of Policy and Communications to identify new 
areas of policy focus in order to be responsive to emerging needs in 
community technology.  

· Work with management team to establish, implement and continually 
improve lines of communication with and between Directors, staff and 
CTCs to ensure the mission and goals of CTCNet are being fulfilled;  

· Communicate regularly (meetings and monthly reports) with Directors 
on planning and implementation of all CTCNet programmatic activities;  

· Represent CTCNet at various public and professional functions;  

· Coordinate efforts to identify and recruit program staff and 
consultants;  

Experience & Qualifications:  

· Ability to work collaboratively in a grassroots organization  

· Ability to think strategically and operationalize program objectives  

· An understanding and commitment to the mission of community 
technology  

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and 
effectively with people at all levels within the organization and at key 
external agencies and organizations  

· Experience managing and supervising program staff and facilitating 
work of teams  

· Detail-oriented, flexible and able to manage changing, deadline 
environment.  

· Capable of determining and meeting planned and unplanned project 
needs.  

· Excellent communications skills, including writing, editing and oral 
presentation.  

· Initiative, self-direction, team management and facilitation skills, and a 
sense of humor.  

A Master's degree or its equivalent is required.  The successful 
candidate will have at least five years program management 
experience.  The candidate must also have a demonstrated 
commitment to improvement of opportunities of underserved 
communities in community technology, education, social services or 
economic development.
