Immigrant Communities in Action: A Day of Dialogue

Saturday, February 21 at 8:30am
at the 32BJ building at 101 Avenue of the Americas.
Take the A, C, E, 1, or 9 subway lines to Canal Street.

What are the challenges immigrant communities face? At home, at
work, in our neighborhoods, at the national level—how are
we dealing with injustice and oppression? How can we fight back?

The Day of Dialogue is an event being planned and organized by
community and labor organizations, religious institutions, and
activists in immigrant communities in order to continue and
broaden the struggle for workers and immigrants.

The Day of Dialogue will be a terrific opportunity for immigrant
workers to talk about issues of interest in different
neighborhoods, to educate our

allies about these issues, and to plan common strategies and
develop forms of support for current campaigns. It's a
chance for immigrant workers and communities to get involved with
the movement and organize for power.

The event will consist of a plenary session on Legalization and
workshops (or dialogues) in the following areas:

* Access to public services for non-English speakers
* Protection in work regardless of immigration status
*     Healthcare for immigrant workers
* Forging power in immigrant communities through civic and
political

participation
*     Immigrant legal rights/Patriot Act

This all-day event is free and will include food and live music.
In the evening, we will also have a small celebration.

Your participation is very important in growing the network of
activism and furthering the movement for the rights of workers
and immigrants in New York City. We look forward to seeing you
at the Day of Dialogue.

luchar?

Organizaciones comunitarias y laborales, instituciones religiosas
