experienced Community  Organizer to coordinate its expanded
Affordable Housing Campaign BA/BS and substantial (3-5 years) 
community organizing experience required, with proven skills  in
training and leadership development as well as strong writing
skills and computer literacy (database, internet).  Bi-lingual
Spanish, some knowledge of the Williamsburg/Greenpoint community,
planning and/or social work training a plus.  Salary commensurate

OUTRAGE
Community Organizer Assistant
Part-time

St. Nicholas Neighborhood Preservation Corporation seeks a
part-time Community Organizer to work with OUTRAGE, a coalition
of residents and organizations in East Williamsburg and
Greenpoint, to organize an effective campaign to reduce the
volume of garbage processed in our community and work with a new
project providing outreach and education for a lead-based paint
removal project. 

He/she will work with the Senior Environmental Organizer to help
to maintain and strengthen the existing coalition, work with
coalition members to develop and implement political and
practical strategies and with other organizers to help implement
the lead removal project.

Excellent communication and organizing skills, and the ability to
understand technical material and explain it to community
residents.

Evening meetings required; excellent opportunity for
college/graduate student. Some knowledge of Williamsburg /
Greenpoint community, Spanish or Polish, waste disposal, lead
and/or environmental justice issues a plus. Flexible hours,
