Schools are part of the fabric of every community and strong
schools are essential components of healthy neighborhoods.
Connecting community schools and community development can
be a powerful tool for neighborhood change. How can advocates
for schools, education and the social and economic well-being of
schoolchildren come together with community-based organizations
to revitalize neighborhoods, strengthen community, and improve
educational opportunities? What are elements of successful school-
community partnerships and how can communities make the
connection between neighborhood schools and community
building? Join NNC for a discussion with leading community school
experts on connecting these two movements.
