Neighborhood Schools and Community Building

Schools are part of the fabric of every community and strong 
schools are essential components of healthy neighborhoods. 
Connecting community schools and community development can 
be a powerful tool for neighborhood change. How can advocates 
for schools, education and the social and economic well-being of 
schoolchildren come together with community-based organizations 
to revitalize neighborhoods, strengthen community, and improve 
educational opportunities? What are elements of successful school-
community partnerships and how can communities make the 
connection between neighborhood schools and community 
building? Join NNC for a discussion with leading community school 
experts on connecting these two movements.
