Northern California Citizenship Project

Title: Project Assistant

Supervised by: Director

Summary: The Northern California Citizenship Project (NCCP) 
builds the capacity of community-based organizations and other 
agencies to engage immigrants in the democratic process and give 
them the tools they need to project their voices and affect 
social change. To this end, the NCCP serves as a clearinghouse 
for best practices, training, technical assistance, networking, 
peer mentoring and other resources on immigrant civic and 
political participation. Currently a project of the Northern 
California Grantmakers, the NCCP will soon be transitioning to a 
new organizational home. The NCCP is seeking a highly organized 
and energetic=

Project Assistant to provide wide ranging administrative and 
program support. The Project Assistant should be 
entrepreneurial, creative and willing to adapt to a changing 
work environment.

Specific Duties: Manage office and administrative systems 
including reception, processing mail, preparing check requests, 
filing, maintaining equipment and ordering supplies Update and 
maintain databases and contact lists Coordinate distribution of 
NCCP=92s voter education curriculum and other project materials 
Outreach to and follow-up with individuals and organizations for
participation in NCCP programs Develop and manage communications 
systems for NCCP affiliated organizations (ie newsletter, email 
listserve, fax, etc.) Coordinate logistics and registration for 
trainings, conferences=

and other events Conduct issue research and media scans Design 
event and training outreach materials Provide other 
administrative and program support as required

Qualifications: Previous administrative support or office 
management experience Exceptional organizational skills and 
ability to develop/improve administrative systems Familiarity 
with Microsoft Office, database and desktop publishing programs 
BA or equivalent experience Experience working with and 
sensitivity to low-income, immigrant community preferred 
Bilingual preferred Commitment to immigrant empowerment and 
social justice preferred

Salary and Benefits: $33,000 - $38,000 annual salary DOE with 
excellent benefits.
