Looking for an opportunity to use your skills and talents to revitalize a
multicultural urban neighborhood? The Westcott neighborhood needs a brave,
tireless and dedicated champion. Join the Westcott CDC in a daring struggle
against the forces of decay in the rustbelt city of Syracuse. The Westcott
neighborhood is a funky, eclectic, diverse, vibrant neighborhood with a
small blighted business district at its core. The neighborhood is a great
place to live, thanks to the efforts of an active community, creative

officials. Home of the best public schools in the City, and comfortably
committed to diversity, the neighborhood has rebounded, but problems remain.

create opportunity for neighborhood residents. Business attraction and
retention, a microenterprise program, new business incubation, and
cooperative services (parking, safety patrols, marketing) are used to build
opportunity and jobs. To combat blight, the CDC also advances physical
improvement projects and helps restore neglected housing. Westcott CDC
works to develop constructive partnerships with other neighborhood groups,
the City of Syracuse, Syracuse University and local businesses.
